Fast, strong, cost-effective

Tilt-up is how much of the valley's warehouse and commercial space gets built: strong, fire-resistant concrete walls cast flat on the slab and tilted up, faster and often cheaper than masonry.

We cast tilt-up panels on the building slab or a casting bed, with the reinforcement, embeds, and lift inserts placed to the structural drawings, then coordinate the crane pick to set them on the footings and brace them until the connections are made. Panels can be standard reinforced concrete, insulated sandwich panels for energy performance, or architectural panels with reveals and finishes. Because the panels are formed and finished on the ground, quality control is high and the shell goes up fast.

  • Panels cast on site to the structural drawings
  • Reinforcement, embeds, and lift inserts set to plan
  • Standard, insulated sandwich, and architectural panels
  • Crane pick and bracing coordinated with the GC and engineer

Why Centurion

A tilt-up sub your GC can build around

Tilt-up lives and dies on coordination: the panels have to be cast right, the embeds have to land where the steel expects them, and the pick has to be planned with the crane and the engineer. We work as the concrete sub on tilt-up projects, cast clean panels to the drawings, and coordinate the lift so the shell goes up on schedule and the connections fit. That is what keeps a tilt-up job moving instead of stalling at erection.

  • Experienced concrete sub for GCs on tilt-up shells
  • Panels cast and finished to the structural drawings
  • Embeds and inserts placed for the steel and the pick
  • Pump and mobile-mix fleet for fast panel pours

How it works

Our commercial concrete process

1. Drawings & coordination

We review the structural and panel drawings with your engineer and GC and confirm the casting and erection sequence.

2. Footings & slab

We pour the footings, grade beams, and the building slab or casting beds the panels will be cast on.

3. Form & set steel

Panels are formed on the slab with reinforcement, embeds, lift inserts, and blockouts set to plan.

4. Cast & finish

Panels are poured, finished to the specified face, and cured to the strength needed for the lift.

5. Pick & brace

With the crane and rigging crew, panels are tilted up, set on the footings, and braced until connected.

6. Connect & strip

Once the structural connections are made and signed off, braces come down and the shell is ready to build on.

Tilt-Up Concrete Walls FAQ

What is tilt-up concrete construction?

Tilt-up is a method where the building's wall panels are cast flat on the slab or a casting bed on site, then tilted up with a crane and set on the footings. It is widely used for warehouses, distribution centers, and commercial buildings because it is strong, fire-resistant, and faster and often cheaper than masonry.

How much do tilt-up walls cost in Las Vegas?

Tilt-up is priced by the square foot of panel. Standard 6 to 7 inch reinforced panels typically run $14 to $22 per square foot, insulated sandwich panels $20 to $28, and architectural panels $24 to $32 and up. Panel thickness, insulation, finish, and engineering drive the number, so we price from the structural drawings.

Is tilt-up cheaper than masonry or steel?

For many warehouse and commercial shells, yes. Because the panels are cast on the ground and raised quickly, tilt-up often beats masonry on both cost and schedule at larger footprints. The right choice depends on the building size, height, and design, which we can talk through with your engineer and GC.

Do you work as the concrete sub for our GC?

Yes. On tilt-up projects we work as the concrete subcontractor, pouring footings, slab, and panels to the structural drawings and coordinating the embeds and the lift with your engineer, steel, and crane crew so erection goes smoothly.

What are insulated sandwich panels?

A sandwich panel has a layer of rigid insulation cast between two layers of concrete, giving the wall built-in thermal performance. They cost more than standard panels but reduce heating and cooling loads, which matters for conditioned space in the Nevada climate.

How fast does a tilt-up building go up?

Once footings and the slab are in and the panels have cured to lift strength, the shell can be tilted up quickly, often much faster than laying masonry. The overall schedule depends on the building size and the design, and we sequence casting and erection to keep it moving.

Do tilt-up projects need special engineering and permits?

Yes. Tilt-up panels are structural elements that require engineered drawings, permits, and inspections. We build to the structural engineer's drawings and coordinate the reinforcement, embed, and pre-pour inspections, along with the erection and bracing, with the local building department.

Can tilt-up panels have a finished or architectural look?

Yes. Panels can be given reveals, form-liner textures, exposed aggregate, and paint or coatings for a designed exterior. Because the face is finished while the panel is flat on the ground, the quality control on architectural finishes is high.
