Our commercial concrete process

1. Civil plans & site walk

We review the site or civil plans, check soil and drainage, and confirm traffic loads and the stall layout before pricing.

2. Permits & demo

We pull permits, then remove and haul off existing asphalt or concrete where the lot is a replacement.

3. Sub-base & grade

We import and compact road base to 95% Proctor and set grades so water runs to the inlets, not to the storefront.

4. Forms & rebar

Forms define drive lanes and islands; a rebar mat and dowels at joints go in and are checked before the pour.

5. Pour & finish

Pump or direct placement, laser screed, and a broom finish that grips tires and hides light wear.

6. Joints, cure & stripe

Control joints are cut on schedule, the slab cures, then striping, wheel stops, and signage complete the lot.

Is a concrete parking lot better than asphalt in Las Vegas?

For most commercial sites, yes. Asphalt softens and ruts in Nevada heat and needs sealing and patching on a short cycle. A concrete lot costs more up front but carries the same traffic for 30-plus years with minimal maintenance, which usually makes it cheaper over the life of the property.

How much does a concrete parking lot cost in Las Vegas?

A 6-inch, rebar-reinforced concrete lot typically runs $10 to $14 per square foot installed. Heavy-truck zones, approaches, and dumpster pads run higher because they are thickened and use a stronger mix. Tear-out of existing asphalt or concrete is quoted separately. How thick should a commercial parking lot slab be?

Standard passenger-vehicle areas are usually 6 inches over a compacted base. Drive aisles, entrances, truck routes, and dumpster aprons are thickened, often to 8 inches or more with a heavier rebar mat, because those areas take concentrated heavy loads.

Can you pour our lot in phases so we stay open?

Yes. We routinely build and replace lots in sections so part of the parking stays open and access is maintained. We plan the phasing and pour schedule around your busiest hours to keep disruption to a minimum.

Do you handle striping, ADA stalls, and wheel stops?

Yes. Once the slab has cured we coordinate striping, wheel stops, signage, and ADA-compliant stalls, access aisles, and ramps with detectable-warning pads so the finished lot meets code and is ready to use.

Do we need a permit for a new commercial lot?

Almost always. New lots, replacements that change drainage, and any right-of-way approach work through Clark County or the City of Las Vegas require permits and inspections. We pull the permits and schedule the inspections as part of the job.

How long before we can drive on the new lot?

Concrete gains most of its strength in the first week and reaches full design strength at 28 days. We typically open a lot to normal traffic after about 7 days, and hold heavy trucks off thickened sections a little longer. We give you exact dates for each phase.

Do you fix drainage and ponding on an existing lot?

Yes. Ponding usually means the grade is wrong or a section has settled. We can saw-cut and re-pour the low areas to correct fall, add valley gutters or inlets, and tie the fix into the surrounding slab so water moves off the lot the way it should.
