Our exposed aggregate process
1. Design & stone selection
We help you choose seeded or integral aggregate and pick the stone color and size, from rounded pea gravel to crushed quartz or granite, that fits your home and the space.
2. Base prep & grading
We excavate, compact the base, and set the grade for drainage, the same structural prep any quality slab needs before a decorative finish goes on top.
3. Forms & reinforcement
Forms define the edges and any accent bands, and rebar or wire mesh is set on chairs so the slab carries load and stays flat.
4. Pour & seed
We place the 4,000 PSI mix, screed it level, and, for a seeded finish, broadcast the decorative stone evenly across the surface and float it in.
5. Time the exposure
We watch the set and wash the top skin of cement away in the right window to reveal the stone at a consistent depth without loosening it.
6. Joints, cure & seal
Control joints are cut, the slab cures, and we apply a UV-stable sealer that brightens the stone and locks the surface for the desert climate.
